WooCommerce setup

Set up Checkify for WooCommerce.

These steps assume WooCommerce and Checkify Connector are already installed and connected.

Step 1

Install WooCommerce

Checkify for WooCommerce requires WooCommerce to be installed and active on your WordPress site.

Outcome: WooCommerce active

If you already run a WooCommerce store, skip to the next step.

Step 2

Install Checkify for WooCommerce

In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New, search for Checkify for WooCommerce, and install it. Or upload the plugin ZIP to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.

Outcome: Plugin installed

You can activate this plugin before Connector is ready — an admin notice will link you to Connector until it is active.

Step 3

Activate the plugin

Under Plugins → Installed Plugins, activate Checkify for WooCommerce.

Outcome: Plugin active

Required plugins

WooCommerce and Checkify Connector must both be active. Connector handles site connection and your Pass ID.

Step 4

Open WooCommerce → Checkify age gate

In the WordPress admin, open WooCommerce and choose Checkify age gate to configure your shop.

✓ Set minimum age (10–110).

✓ Choose Verified or High Assurance.

Outcome: Settings page open

The Status panel shows whether Connector is connected and how many categories are selected.

Step 5

Choose gate scope

Decide where customers must verify before they can buy.

✓ Checkout only — inline widget on checkout.

✓ Cart and checkout — widget on cart and checkout pages.

✓ Entire storefront — full-page gate for catalog protection.

Outcome: Scope configured

Block checkout support

The inline widget works with classic checkout and WooCommerce Checkout blocks. Place order stays disabled until verification completes.

Step 6

Test checkout and optional categories

Save your settings, add a restricted product to cart, and complete a test verification. Optionally limit the gate to specific product categories such as alcohol or vape.

✓ Leave categories unchecked to gate all products.

✓ Select categories to gate only those products.

✓ Complete a test purchase as an unverified customer.

Outcome: WooCommerce gate live

WooCommerce integration complete

Age gate configured

Minimum age, scope, and categories match your shop policy.

Checkout protected

Unverified customers see the Checkify QR widget and cannot complete checkout.
